Required Fee Descriptions
All fees collected by Arkansas State
University are approved by the Board of Trustees prior to assessment.
The purpose of each fee is examined in detail and the impact on the
students and the university is analyzed.
Fees Charged Per Semester
Arkansas Assessment Fee - $5.00
Provides for assessment tests which assess students' academic progress
at various stages of their degree plans. Also provides for assessments
required by federal and state laws.
Student Activity Fee - $20.00
Provides Action Fund monies for student organizations and funds campus
programs through the year. SpringFest, concerts and lectures are
examples. Only charged during the fall and spring semesters.
Yearbook Fee - $10.00
Provides for increased printing costs; repair and replacement of
computer equipment and software to submit the yearbook for printing;
assures no pages will be cut from the yearbook to lower costs. Only charged during the fall and spring semesters for students taking 12 hours or more.
Fees Charged Per Hour
Athletic Fee - $12/hr
Provides scholarships, tutoring services, and athletic equipment. Allows
each student to be admitted to every athletic event on campus with
special seating. Increases ASU community and regional awareness by
providing athletic events open to the community.
Information Technology Fee - $10/hr
Provides funds to support research, increased use, adaptation, and
implementation of emerging technologies.
Student Union Fee - $10/hr
Provided for the renovation of the Reng Center to make it accommodating
for student meetings and activities. Allows students to conduct all ASU
business in one central location. Provides for the construction of the
Student Union with a new cafeteria, recreational areas, meeting space,
lounges, and organizational offices.
Infrastructure Fee - $4/hr
Provides for instructional equipment, computer equipment, library
materials, and major maintenance of facilities.
